The Blind Leading The Blind

These are the days that have been foretold to us through Scripture, countless Saints, and numerous Marian apparitions. If we are not aware, it is because of our own ignorance and lack of desire to understand what our Faith is truly about. The Corona virus fear that has gripped the entire world is without a doubt a demonic plot to control the minds and hearts of the people of this world. But why is the Church and so many of the lay faithful going along with the world? We are not called to live as people in the world live. We are Christians and we are called to live as Christ lived.

We do not look to the world for answers or for hope in times of crisis. We should be picking up our rosary and bible and looking towards God for answers. If we aren’t doing that it means we are putting our faith in the world by absorbing the messages that are being given to us through the secular media, which is always atheistic and anti-God.  The world can not tell us anything that will help us save our souls. It despises us because we are followers of Christ. We know Satan is the ruler of this world and yet we look to the world for information. This is a classic example of insanity! The Father of Lies runs the world and we want to listen to him and his minions? No, we should open our bibles and let God speak to us here and now.

God’s word is alive and eternal. The Truth never changes and what was written 2,000 years ago under the guidance of the Holy Spirit (God) is full Truth. In fact, you will learn more about the reality of things today by reading that living word of God than you could ever learn through the news and media reports that come from the world every second of every day. It is sheer chaos and hysteria being spread by the world and the Devil. There is NO truth in them! We need to regain our senses and understand that God is in control of all things and figure out what His plan for us is in this current moment. He is not asking us to be afraid of a virus that can infect our bodies. He is more concerned with the spiritual virus, that is Sin, that is infecting our minds, hearts, souls and the Church!

This is all the more reason that we should not be accepting the closing of the masses by our Bishop(s)! If they had even an ounce of supernatural Faith they would not agree to go along with this diabolical agenda of the world and would resist until the point of death.  We the laity must protest this horrific abuse with all our might. We must write emails, plan protests, rally outside of our churches, depose unfaithful clergy, whatever it takes! It amazes me that so many Catholics on social media are celebrating this atrocity as a prudent decision by the Church. The Catholic Church is not what you think it is. It is not just the hierarchy who get to make decisions and the rest of us just blindly accept it even to our own eternal detriment. This is not using our God given intellect and will.

We do not follow faithless men. We, the Church of light who are called to be the salt of the earth for the rest of humanity, must retain our zeal! If we have lost that, then we are no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot (cf. Matthew 5:13-16).

I am sick to my stomach watching these unnatural men who run the Church telling us, the faithful, what we must do. They use your ignorance of the Faith and of your rights as Christians, to lie to get you to agree to things that no Christians in the history of the world would ever have agreed to.  The true Church does not take its marching orders from the State (Satan). It takes its orders from Christ and those who are in communion with Him. This means those who are in a state of Grace and who reside in the Truth.

We must despise all forms of lying in our own lives if we ever wish to be able to see the Truth as it clearly is. The sin of lying obstructs us from being able to see when others are lying to us. The current hierarchy of the Church is filled with immoral men who can lie with an unsettling ease that is impossible to detect unless you have trained your eyes and ears to only seek truth. Christ is the truth we must seek right now and always if we are ever going to be able to live as he has called us to live in this world.

Fear of God is the only respectable form of fear. If we are afraid, because the world has caused it in us, then we are not exhibiting true faith. If you tell me I cannot receive the most precious and holy Eucharist because of fear of contracting a cold virus then you are doing the devil’s work and you have cut yourself off from the true vine that gives life.  Please understand that your Church is being ripped away from you and if you’re ok watching mass on television and not receiving the most blessed Sacrament than I feel sorry for you. If this is not ok with you than let us, the militant Church, do something about it right now.

Stay away from people who are not followers of the Lord! Can someone who is good get along with someone who is evil? Are light and darkness the same? Is Christ a friend of Satan? Can people who follow the Lord have anything in common with those who don’t? Do idols belong in the temple of God? We are the temple of the living God (2 Corinthians 6:14-16).

“Who’s going to save our Church? It’s not our bishops, it’s not our priests and it is not the religious. It is up to you, the people. You have the minds, the eyes and the ears to save the Church. Your mission is to see that the priests act like priests, your bishops act like bishops, and the religious act like religious.” – Archbishop Fulton Sheen

“Anyway, they are no more than false apostles and dishonest workers. They only pretend to be apostles of Christ. And it is no wonder. Even Satan tries to make himself look like an angel of light. So why does it seem strange for Satan’s servants to pretend to do what is right? Someday they will get exactly what they deserve.” 2 Corinthians 11:13-15

“For the shepherds are stupid, and do not inquire of the Lord; therefore they have not prospered, and all their flock is scattered.” Jeremiah 10:21

“It is an easy matter for many to be shut up in the hands of a few: and there is no difference in the sight of the God of heaven to deliver with a great multitude, or with a small company: For the success of war is not in the multitude of the army, but strength cometh from heaven. They come against us with an insolent multitude, and with pride, to destroy us, and our wives, and our children, and to take our spoils. But we will fight for our lives and our laws: And the Lord himself will overthrow them before our face: but as for you, fear them not.” 1 (Maccabees) 3:18-22

  1. I understand your Passion. And I understand fully the desire for the sacraments. But there are a couple of issues here that need to be factored in .

1st of all, we do not as non science and non medical people fully understand what they are dealing with. There are people in both camps where one says it is completely unlike any other flu virus and extremely dangerous. In the other camp some say that it is 1 of a 100 viruses that come through but it has gotten more publicity. With that said, it is difficult to know and discern which of these camps is accurate. So for many people, erring on the side of a conservative stand is safer at this point until we have the full understanding of how this virus operates. I am thinking of the immunocompromised, or the elderly and those with severe issues in their lives already, like heart disease or diabetes. Orhose who may already have a form of flu and are compromised. All who live with them could carry a potentially deadly virus into the home.

But the 2nd issue is more relating to us as Catholics who are looking to Shepards. Our shepherds are following protocols designed by ones we suppose are in the know. Exoerts in their fields. And so the poor bishops have had the awesome task of trying to balance the care for the faithful in their spiritual life with mandates and protocols that have been handed down by local and federal government.

I think instead of finding ways to 2nd guess them, we should perhaps be praying for them. I have seen across the country numerous bishops who have found ways to bring Jesus in the Monstrance to the cities and even to people’s front yard in order to bless. That is outside the Box. Others have offered the Sacrament of Confession in drive through mode. That is outside the Box. And many are offering Mass with Spiritual Communion to the faithful online.

Keep in mind that God has used some forms of isolation in the past. Noah brought his entire family onto the Ark. To be spared. Moses mandated that the faithful stay in their homes and brush the blood of the lamb over the doorpost. And even in the Babylonian exile, we see that God worked among the people to draw them closer to Him.

We can even look to the blessed mother, who was deprived of her son during his Passion and was forced to be without him for a time .

There have been plenty of reasons to chastise bishops over the last year’s. But I do not believe this is one of them. If the bishops would not comply, what would be next? Outbreaks in each parish ? Or perhaps even the government forcing isolation by law and National Guard. Right now we are complying with prudent protocol.

In for myself being within some of those more susceptible I think our priests and bishops for being smart about this and giving us opportunities online to still have access to the mass. The priests are celebrating the mass on our behalf and we should be thankful for that .

    1. If you think denying the faithful the sacraments of which they have the right to receive then you are also in error when it comes to Church law. Canon. 213: “The Christian faithful have the right to receive assistance from the sacred pastors out of the spiritual goods of the Church, ESPECIALLY the word of God and the SACRAMENTS.” When even the confessionals and eucharistic adoration are being shut down in many places it is clear this is not normal times. You also misunderstand prudence as a natural virtue and Prudence as a supernatural virtue (which is clearly lacking from the clergy at the present moment). We do pray for them constantly, but we are also still called to make sure they do what their vocations call them to do which is administer to the flock. Just because a few good priests are trying to “think outside the box” does not justify the wholesale cancellation of the masses worldwide. You are free to hold your own opinion on the matter however.

      1. I would never deny the necessity of the sacraments. Yet Church Law is in a more pragmatic sense declares the ‘right’ of the Faithful to them. What you suggest is that bishops become openly defiant to what science is disclosing and authorities are requiring for public safety. The Church always supports scientific knowledge. In this case, that knowledge guided the bishops to voluntarily follow protocols that are wise in order to protect all from further spread of this virus. Would you ask bishops to defy US Health & Safety guidelines?

      2. Since you decided to bring up Canon law 213, I thought perhaps we might look back to Canon law 212.

In the 1st part it says that the faithful are bound to show Christian obedience to what the sacred pastors declare as teachers of the faith and prescribe as rulers of the church because they represent Christ.

In the 2nd part it States that we are at liberty to make known our needs.

However in the 3rd portion it finally States that we are to show reverence to the pastors and take into account the common good and dignity of individuals.

When we go after our bishops for making a decision that they have discerned through a lot of prayer that this is for the common good, and instead of following what 212 says and being in Christian obedience we begin to 2nd guess them constantly, we are gravely in error.

        Just a thought…

    2. It seems to me that some of the debating in this blog has missed one essential point. Most people cannot site canon law by verse. When we learn about our faith we learn about the tenants of the faith not about every aspect of canon law.
Christ founded his church on the sacraments and the Evangelists and church fathers have further guided his church through the Gospels which we are blessed to have at a time when the early Christians did not and had only the oral tradition to rely on. Their deposit of faith lacked the treasure chest 21st century Catholics are blessed to have. But they did not need it. Their faith was rich and deep and they depended on the teachings of Christ before the full development of the mass as we know it. They revered the Eucharist because they understood and loved pasionately, their Lord Who is Truly and Really Present in the consecrated host.
We know how the gospels have been misinterpreted and how the Bible has been chopped up by Protestants who did not agree with parts of it. Others have mangled it with unholy purposeful misinterpretations. Yet, our bible has withstood through time just as Christ’s church has persevered through unimaginable trials, apostocies, heresies, unholy popes and more. He promised it would prevail. It has.
I have never witnessed any fear like this that has consumed people instantly. Media has played a role in this because it became a political movement at the outset. When our country was attacked on September 11th, the nation came together. People did not look twice at their neighbors suspecting them as terrorists. We kept eyes open and watchful but did not avoid people. There were no shutdowns or lockdowns. Safety measures were taken but not like ones for an exaggerated health crisis. Curious to ponder what the reaction would be today. Oh, not necessary because organized anarchy prevails in our streets. Imagine the spiritual merit that would have been gained for this period had the churches remained open.
The church remained silent. I did not hear about an urgent call to prayer in unity or especially promotion of adoration before the Blessed Sacrament. Mandates soon followed. People
can be led by fear even when they read The Magnificat and attend Daily Mass. They followed “guidelines” that were unconstitutional. Some governors and mayors became dictators. And the call for prayer, mass, the sacraments and increased Holy Hours never came. Most Bishops and Priests went along because for the first time in history the successor of Peter closed the churches! Didn’t anyone find the ease and speed of the closure of churches alarming? At a time when the greatest weapon we have is Holy Mass, rosaries and prayer groups, and adoration hours, silence echoed.
It is true, that we are not all scientists. However, God gives us an opportunity to form our conscience well and to exercise reason and Common Sense that is uncommon according to GK Chesterton . We pray and continually educate ourselves about our faith. Fundamental to our faith is the practice and honor due God in the first commandment. I personally have met too many people who refused to listen to other sources of information to make an informed decision about the accuracy of information. Sadly, a couple people I told about the opportunity to receive Holy Communion never did. I cannot understand why someone praying in church or offering a holy hour can choose not to receive Him if given an opportunity, even secretly. . The Extreme Measures taken as precautions defy common sense when one considers its ramifications. I never heard about the three thousand armed soldiers at Fatima on May 12th of this year nor did I hear about the closure of the Holy Waters at Lourdes until I listened to Father James Alton’s homily admonishing the Bishops for their failure to lead and provide the sacraments as is their duty in the priesthood. I have written emails to pastors about the guidelines that are not mandates. Some of the same issues I addressed were mentioned by Father Alton and especially by Cardinal Burke! I pray for their safety at a time when our church has many wolves ready to devour the sheep and lambs.
I was shocked by the lack of outrage of Catholics who appeared to follow along with anything that was said -without a whimper. Immediately I thought of World War II and Germany and other times in history when communism and socialism gained a foothold. First the churchrs are forcibly closed. But this time, it was voluntary. Second, the universities closed. Third the artists were silenced. Mandates followed and people obeyed. People kept saying , “It isn’t that bad, things will change, this won’t last forever, everything will be all right, just wait.” You know the results. In this country, we have free speech and our news sources are not all controlled and we have other sources to listen to even online! AM radio stations and programs with featured experts and Nobel laureates . Online Epoch times, The vortex, lifesitenews’ and more. EWTN.
The practices in place are unnatural at the root. This is most apparent in the guidelines for houses of worship that are stated clearly by the CDC as not to impinge on any right under the First Amendment. But LA Bishop Garcia who is (sadly) president of the USCCB and CA CCP, has accepted them as edicts. In his diocese, he directs the roping off of the beautiful, holy statues! I was appalled a couple months back when one state started to open and he proclaimed that the church’s would remain closed! Immediately I identified another red flag.
I have spent more time before the Blessed Sacrament as I used to do years ago. Amazingly and surprisingly to me, I’ve been guided to write letters to our Bishop. Not from me. They call him back to Christ and acknowledge his responsibility to his vows and duties as a bishop. Most recent letters have focused on the liturgy and the irreconcilability of the guidelines with celebration of the mass. However, the fruits of the letters may or may not be seen in this lifetime. But I follow what our Lord asks me to do in my own way. Honoring Him is first.
To those who are fearful and dependent on following the guidelines, I offer you this. Saint Philip Neri has a pertinent quote. “The best way to prepare for death, is to live each day as if it is the last.” I never knew the origin of this thought until I read it on a church bulletin. Social distancing is not unifying, it is divisive and it scatters exactly as the evil one does. The prince of lies is clever in his deceitful disguises, even as experts. Unity in church and with friends and family reflects the family of Christ’s Church. I plan to sit next to anyone at church when I attend because families can sit together. I have always been taught and follow what Christ teaches, we are all Brothers and Sisters in Christ. If you are fearful about catching something from someone ask yourself these questions. Who desires to keep anyone out of church? Who desires families to split apart? Who desires to keep people away from the Eucharist? It is only with the Eucharist that Christ prevails, even if we go underground. Looking at a picture of a masked priest with gloves and a masked recipient waiting to receive the True and Real Presence, is appalling and abhorrent to Christ Himself. When I prayed before the Blessed Sacrament recently and some of these thoughts crossed my mind, I was interrupted. He said,” I find it horrifyingly offensive.”
Reception of the Holy Eucharist is critical. Let no Catholic be fearful of receiving our Lord on their tongue or in the hand. I will stake my life on this fact: No one can contaminate God. A priest who might touch my tongue or might touch my hand cannot transmit germs or anything to the True and Real Presence.
I have no power to change God. I cannot take away from Him nor can I add to Him. God is incorruptible. Incidentally, this also pertains to his Most Precious Blood (denied to the faithful during flu season). Although He is Truly and Really Present in the host and the Precious Blood is not necessary, it is a spiritual treasure each of us receives into our souls as an added Grace.
FYI, I wear a hat and on top of it I have an n95 mask strapped to it. Written on the mask in every direction are the words, “No socialism.” When I attend Mass next Monday and on, I will have a small sentence on my hat as well. It will read, “I will gladly consume a host someone with Covid has sneezed on. I will not die because no one can contaminate God!”
I pray for all those who are featful or do not truly believe because if they believed in their hearts and prayed before the Blessed Sacrament, they would find great peace during these times and live in the joy of Christ.

    1. I completely agree with the person that posted the two comments. It is important to protect the vulnerable people of society. It’s the Christian thing to do.

      1. I recently read that to self-quarantine is the most pro-life action a Catholic can do during this pandemic. It makes the statement that thes life of others is important enough to follow protocols thag may be restrictive and even painful…such as the temporary suspension of public Mass. Thank you for your comment.

  2. NINETYFIVEQUESTIONS: If you’re going to cite Canon Law please do not edit out the part that is not convenient to your argument. What Canon 212 actually states is this: “Can. 212 §1. Conscious of their own responsibility, the Christian faithful are bound to follow with Christian obedience those things which the sacred pastors, inasmuch as they represent Christ, declare as teachers of the faith or establish as rulers of the Church.” The key part that you omitted states “inasmuch as they represent Christ”. Well how about when they aren’t representing Christ anymore because it is well known many of these men suffer from a severe lack of Faith in the supernatural sense. We will know them by their fruits. You seem to hold that “Science” is settled on the matter when in fact the reports are all over the map and much of the evidence contradicts the hype that is being spread. Furthermore, the Church does not ever need to listen to the State when it comes to the core tenets of our Faith. The dispensation from the mass for those who are sick is one thing, but this is entirely different and unprecedented. If you cannot see this then feel free to not receive the sacraments for fear of getting sick. I will seek out the sacraments no matter the physical cost. If your argument had any merit it would make way more sense to close down all supermarkets, hospitals, and abortion centers (which are still open btw) than it would to close the Churches.

    1. I know, I know. The next comment will be that we should be worried about the vulnerable. I believe we each have the ability to make decisions to take care of our loved ones and those who are vulnerable. My mother lived with me for three and a half years and died at the age of 92. She never even caught a cold while living here. That was with a teenager in the house. We knew what we needed to do to care for her. I should not have my church doors closed to me because there are vulnerable people in the world. I have a right to the supernatural food that our Lord Jesus Christ provides for me. The vulnerable should stay home and those who care for them should make decisions accordingly. But While sheltering in place, we should have the opportunity to receive the Blessed Sacrament to nourish our souls. Also want to say that just because someone is an expert, doesn’t mean we have to do what they say. After all, an abortionist is an expert. Do you recommend the faithful listen to them? My lord gave me an intellect to use in the discernment process for making decisions on how I can get to heaven. That just happens to be my number one priority. The priests and bishops should have the priority to help the faithful to get to heaven. That includes leading and guiding us during this time and making sure we receive the sacraments.

      1. Where exactly and how will you seek out & receive the Sacraments? In our State there is an executive order to shelter in place with no groups larger than 10 people. So the complaint against bishops following a state executive order is not sensible. How exactly do you expect them to carry this out without defying an executive order? I don’t say this rhetorically. If either of you have a plan how you see that to be workable, I truly am ooen to hearing it.

    2. It is difficult to converse when language & definitions are not agreed upon. The word ‘inasmuch’ is a word not used in daily language and is a bit obscure. But is meaning is ‘since’ or ‘because.’ So the meaning in Canon to one to is that we are to be obedient because they represent Christ. You have added a connotation that implies only if they represent Christ.

These men are in apostolic line and some of the most blessed saints have spoken of the need to love these bishops because they are Mary’s blessed children inasmuch as they represent to her Son. Yes there have been bishops who have wandered, and they absolutely need more of our prayers. But are you prepared to be the judge of all bishops?

The problem I am having with this whole line of thought is that the entirety of the line of bishops in the United States are under attack by what some of the people here have stated. This is not charitable, nor is it prudent in the pure sense of prudence. It creates feelings of mutiny against those who are representing Christ. There is implication here that all bishops are to be mistrusted, and have motivations that are not pure. That is a dangerous road to go down.

  3. And one final point since NINETYFIVEQUESTIONS raised the issue of whether Bishops should ignore the health “experts”.

    “Salus animarum suprema lex.”
The salvation of souls is the supreme law!

  4. Thank you, JB. Thank you, Ven Abp Fulton J Sheen.

But the meaning is ‘since’ or ‘because.’ So the meaning in Canon 212 is that we are to be obedient because they represent Christ. You have added a connotation that implies only if they represent Christ to your standard. Do you actually think they have not prayerfully made the suspension of Mass decision?

These men are in apostolic line and some of the most blessed saints have spoken of the need to love these bishops because they are Mary’s blessed children inasmuch as they represent to her Son. Yes there have been bishops who have wandered, and they absolutely need more of our prayers. But are you prepared to be the judge of all bishops?

  6. NINETYFIVEQUESTIONS: You are correct in saying that is difficult when language and definitions are not agreed upon. However, Canon Law is only officially recognized in the Latin language. Nobody said anything about ALL bishops. In fact this page is really only concerned with our own Bishop in our diocese.

I understand your concerns and I am certain you are coming from a good place of heart and intention. There are many Catholics who share your sentiments. However I am only speaking to the rational intellect and not to your feelings about the situation (no matter how well intended). The objective Truth is what I am concerned with and it is where my passion comes from.

The irony of all this is that this post is talking to exactly this situation. Those who blindly follow out of a misguided sense of obedience and who do not know truly the meaning of that word in the Christian sense. Nobody is casting judgment on people, only on the visible ACTIONS of which we are allowed to judge (i.e. the closing of the masses and the denial of the sacraments).

If these things are not clear to you that is ok because I believe God will know where your heart is truly at in the matter. On the flip side if anything I say is wrong, I know that the Lord will reward my ZEAL even if I were to error…

Isaiah 42:13- “The LORD will go forth like a warrior, He will arouse His zeal like a man of war He will utter a shout, yes, He will raise a war cry He will prevail against His enemies.”
Revelation 3:19 – “Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline; therefore be zealous and repent.”
Psalm 119:139- “My zeal has consumed me, Because my adversaries have forgotten Your words.”

Again, I just want to reiterate that this is all coming from a place of LOVE. Love of Souls being the highest good. This is where the Church has let us down. They have put the concerns of the flesh ahead of His Supreme Law. The state has no authority whatsoever to place restrictions upon the Catholic Church in the exercise of her mission. The Church is the Mystical Body of Christ, and as such Her freedom from the dictates of the State in these matters is a direct consequence of Our Lord’s Kingship and His Sovereign Rights over every nation. I imagine many Bishops have forgotten this or never truly understood it otherwise they would never agree to go along with what is happening now. Christ is King! He should NEVER under any circumstances be denied to the faithful. I pray that you see this truth.

One final thought which has been touched upon already but needs further expression: 42 MILLION lives were taken last year alone due to Abortion worldwide. This is the gravest evil of all time and yet these slaughter houses are not required to shut down because the governments of the world (controlled by Satan) consider these “essential services”. But the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass which provides life saving graces for our Souls is not deemed essential…. hmmmmmmm

    Peace be with you!
